WNC Treehouse Builders Make the Most of Nature's Gifts

You know the phrase, “turning lemons into lemonade”? Well, you could say we are well-versed in crafting fine, sweet lemonade from “sour” obstacles--er, lemons.

Our Shinrin-Yoku treehouse project had a maple that was leaning up against the main support tree. It was entirely at odds with the foundation we aimed to build. Since the maple tree had to be cut away, the World Treehouses team wanted to honor it by using it within the treehouse. After all, maple’s wood is worth showcasing! We turned this little tree into the support post for the beautiful, hand-made ladder leading to the upstairs bedroom. Uniquely, the treads of the ladder are held in with a half dovetail and wedge, all cut by hand.

This is just one of the carefully planned details of this nourishing treehouse retreat located in the forest of western North Carolina. It’s indicative of the kind of special details you’d find in your very own World Treehouses of Asheville treehouse.
