Custom Treehouse Builders Turn Details into Art
By trade, Adam Laufer is part architect, part builder, and part climber. But he is ALL craftsman at heart. “At World Treehouses, the meeting-point between inspiration and beauty is our priority,” he explains. “We strive for the challenge of creating something both functional and exquisite.”
River Bend Treehouse is graced with a lot of style, not the least of which is a bit of nature’s own art. Never passing up an opportunity to infuse beauty into a space, we hand-built a cabinet in the main living area and dressed it with a gorgeous book-matched, white oak countertop.
The countertop was milled from a tree that had fallen into the river just downstream from where this treehouse is nestled on the bank.
Our skilled craftsmen cut the log lengthwise, revealing curving patterns of growth rings, grain, and dark knots. The boards were then placed side-by-side so that they are the mirror image of each other. A most beautiful design was created by joining them together seamlessly, and we finished it off by reinforcing a natural crack with contrasting bowtie joints.
“We challenge ourselves with each project,” says Adam of the artistry. “At the end of the day, we look back with satisfaction at what was created. Our clients' love for their treehouse is our greatest reward.”
