This small woodstove provides heat and comfort for the cooler autumn and winter nights in Shinrin-yoku, our recently completed custom timber frame treehouse. The steel log burner in the living area of this rustic-luxe treehouse keeps this small, entirely tree-suspended retreat warm when the temperature drops.

Other forms of heating can be costly. We also love the way the fire brings the residents of this getaway even more deeply into a full, serene experience of simple, expressive elements of nature.

We asked our lead builder, Adam Laufer: isn’t a wood stove in a custom treehouse an increased fire hazard? He assured us, “No, not if it is installed correctly and with suitable protection.”
