Western NC treehouse builders: River Bend Treehouse: A structure made from trees nestled in the trees themselves!

From our site overlooking the beautiful Toe River near Asheville, NC, we’re beginning to create the entirely tree-suspended tree-platform with a roof that we’re calling River Bend Treehouse. This new project for World Treehouses of Asheville, NC began with a large tree pulled out of the river to make beams for the treehouse. When our team discovered the tree was too rotten and could not be saved, we went on a hunt for other downed trees in the forest. As you can see from our photos, our hunt was fruitful! We’re now milling multiple trees up by hand and chainsaw mill into big beams for the structure.

Check back in a few months to see the results of our hard work: a handcrafted tree refuge overlooking the rushing river…nestled in the trees, built from trees on the land, and filled with wonderful stories.
