There's never a question: the treehouse itself is the most beautiful result of the collaboration between Adam Laufer, his team of builders, and the client. But for Rachel, the design process was nearly as gratifying as the outcome.
"There was a lot of tea drinking at a table and envisioning, which I really appreciated," she fondly remembers. "And, you know, this is obviously not going to resonate for everyone. But when Adam found out that I did healing work, immediately, he was like, 'Great, we're going to ask permission (from the trees).' And then at the end, at my request, Erin came and did a blessing that blew me away."
For Laufer and Erin Everett, the husband and wife team behind World Treehouses of Asheville, these tender elements are as precious as the structural work of building. "Adam is such a kind soul," says Rachel. "Every step of the way, he always is checking with you, like 'Where is your heart with that?' And (I) felt like (I) was a complete team member the whole time."
